The Woolies released the songs on this CD between 1965 and 1974 on several different labels. During this time they were constantly playing throughout the Midwest, and by 1967 had become the go-to backup band for Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. It's easy to hear from these tracks why these two giants of rock favored The Woolies. (Chuck recorded an album with them in 1970.) The "47 miles of barbed wire" back beat and raw energy on these tracks can damage your speakers even at low volume. Fasten you seat belts.
