Curtiss A-12 “Shrike’ United States Army Air Corps Summer 1935

The A-12 was Army Air Corps' ¬first monoplane attack aircraft, and its main attack aircraft through most of the 1930s. It fairly quickly became obsolete, mainly because of fast-improving aviation technology. Twenty A-12s were delivered to China, although it is unlikely that any survived past the fi¬rst year of World War II. A few A-12s were still in service at Hickam Field on December 7, 1941 but saw no combat. The name 'Shrike' was a Curtiss company name, and was never used by the US Army for the A-12.
